Mac Emergency Broadcast
Broadcast audio from your iPhone or Apple Watch to a Mac you already own. Select a saved message and choose its volume for office announcements, closing notices, evacuation calls, or practice drills.
How to get startedStay calm and evacuate through the nearest exit.

Prepare the words before you need them.
Create and save audio
Generate speech with built-in Japanese system voices, or import WAV audio. Add a name and full message text, save it to your library, and preview it before broadcasting.
Start with a jingle
The pre-broadcast jingle is on by default. In iPhone Settings, turn it on or off, choose a WAV or M4A, and preview it. The message follows the jingle, with pause and resume controls for the current playback.
Check the sound on site
Receive audio captured by your Mac’s microphone. Choose from the latest seven recordings on iPhone or Watch, then play or pause them. Pausing the broadcast also pauses confirmation recording.
Sound on your Mac.
No broadcast window.
The receiver unmutes your Mac and applies the selected volume, then restores the original volume and mute settings afterward. Broadcasts do not open windows or banners, or bring the app to the front.
Scan the Mac’s Tailscale address and verification code, then purchase or restore the annual plan and approve the Mac. One Mac receives at a time. Switching requires confirmed revocation of the previous Mac. Your iPhone and Mac can use different Apple Accounts.
Direct mode uses Tailscale on your Mac and iPhone, without Cloudflare for broadcast traffic or audio storage. iPhone relays Watch commands and recording downloads, so a reachable iPhone is required. Cloud mode connects to the provided Cloudflare broadcast service without Tailscale.

Use an annual iPhone subscription with the free Mac receiver. In direct mode, broadcast audio and confirmation recordings are stored on your own Mac. There are no ads or behavioral tracking.
| Apps | iPhone: iOS 18 or later. Mac receiver: macOS 27 or later. Apple Watch: watchOS 11 or later. |
|---|---|
| Direct mode | Install Tailscale on Mac and iPhone and connect them to the same private network. Direct-mode Watch controls require the iPhone relay. |
| Receiving Mac | The Mac must be powered, online, logged in, and have receiving enabled. A sleeping or powered-off Mac cannot receive immediately. |
| Confirmation audio | Grant microphone access during Mac setup. Recording runs with a broadcast and briefly afterward, never continuously. Standard macOS privacy indicators remain visible. |
| Diagnostics | Sent, received, playing, paused, completed, and failed are separate states. Detailed diagnostics show timestamps, broadcast IDs, error numbers, and retry information. |
| Purchase | The Japan price is ¥5,000 per year as an auto-renewing subscription. Confirm price and duration on the purchase screen. Manage renewal or cancel in Apple’s subscription settings. |
| Storage and deletion | Seven is a display limit. Audio and recordings have no fixed-day automatic deletion. Use iPhone Settings to delete your service account and stored data. |
